One team, two connection systems
In technical and rebreather teams, divers don’t all plug in off-board gas the same way. One diver runs a standard LP inflator hose on his stage or bailout cylinder, another has a QC6 port on his rebreather or manifold. With this adapter, that no longer matters. You clip the standard inflator hose onto the adapter’s inflator nipple and plug the QC6 male end into the QC6 port. In an emergency or during a gas switch, everyone’s gas becomes usable, regardless of which system each diver runs.

• Plugging a buddy’s off-board gas (bailout or diluent) into a CCR with a QC6 port
• Mixed teams of open circuit and rebreather divers
• Connecting cylinders with a standard LP inflator hose without re-plumbing the hose
• A spare part for your save-a-dive kit on expeditions and dive trips

Connections

• Side 1: QC6 male, fits a QC6 female port
• Side 2: standard BCD inflator nipple (male), fits any common LP inflator hose

Field tip
Agree within your team before the dive who uses which connection system, and practise plugging in with gloves on. An adapter that sits in your pocket but has never been used costs you time underwater. Secure the adapter with a lanyard or keep it in a fixed pocket so you can find it blind.
