Precise cleaning where an ordinary brush can’t reach
On dive gear, corrosion, verdigris and mineral deposits always end up in the hardest places: DIN threads, around the valve outlet, on your dive light’s contacts, or in the corners of a first stage. This set of three cleaning pens is built for exactly that job. The slim pen shape lets you work as precisely as you would with a pen. Each pen has its own bristle material for a different level of contamination.

Three hardnesses, three uses

• Fibreglass (red): the finest and most even abrasive action. Ideal for removing oxidation from battery and charging contacts on dive lights and dive computers, and for polishing away light scratches and deposits.
• Steel wire (black): for stubborn corrosion and caked-on dirt on stainless steel parts, tools, and threads that aren’t sealing surfaces.
• Brass wire (yellow): softer than steel, so it suits brass and chrome-plated parts such as valves, hose fittings and inflator connections without needlessly damaging the metal.

Workshop tip
Never use steel or fibreglass on O-ring seats or other sealing surfaces, because a scratch there means a leak. After brushing, rinse thoroughly with fresh water or blow the part clean so no fibreglass residue is left behind. Fibreglass dust can irritate the skin, so gloves are recommended.

Just as useful outside diving
The set works equally well on battery and plug contacts, model building, watches and jewellery, electronics, bicycle parts and cleaning soldering tips. It’s small enough for your save-a-dive kit or toolbox.
